#5 Know the New Rules at Walt Disney World
Most things in the world these days have changed, and so has planning a Disney vacation. The most important new Disney rule is that along with valid park admission, you have to have a theme park reservation to enter the parks. When reserving rooms for guests at a Disney resort we recommend that you immediately select park reservations for your trip. And while we can’t make those daily decisions for you, our agents are trained to walk you through the new system step-by-step.

A few other rules include things like:
- All guests ages 2 and over are required to wear masks.
- You must pass a temperature check to enter the parks.
- No FastPass, the FastPass queues will be used to help keep guests distanced in line.
- Character Cavalcades will replace many character meets.
As you can see it’s important to know the rules. And as things continue to evolve after the parks reopen, we will be there to keep you informed. Your vacations are important to us and our goal is to light your way to extraordinary travel.
Which bring us to….
#4 Learn How to Use Mobile Order
Did you know the My Disney Experience app has a selection for ordering food? There are quite a number of counter service locations at Walt Disney World between the theme parks, resorts, and Disney Springs that offer this option.
Given the circumstances, Disney has announced they will be adding even more mobile order dining locations to their system. And that makes our number four thing you need to know- learn how to use mobile order.

It’s so simple and designed to save you time and a lot less hassle while on vacation. All you have to do is open the app, select a location, and place your order. You can even pay for it on the app! It’s all right there at the touch of a button.
Have a picky eater that wants to custom order an item? No worries, the ordering process allows for special orders as well!
The Walt Disney World Resort even has a great tutorial on their site here if you want to learn more.
Once you’ve gotten the rules down and familiarize yourself with mobile dining, here’s the next thing you need to know!
#3 Have a Plan in Place!
Sure this is something that we would always say, but even more so now as we begin to encounter this new territory. Things like important dining reservations and must do experiences need to be in place well before your vacation.
The good thing is that we continue to make dining reservations for our customers. We’ll also be some of the first to know when new reservations come available again.
Right now regular character dining, with the exception of modifications at Topolino’s Terrace and Garden Grill, won’t be available. But if these types of experiences are important to you, we can make a note of them on your reservation. That way if Disney announces new modifications or reinstates any of these popular meals, we can reach out to reserve these for your trip.

As for planning, we recommend knowing what park you will be at on each day of your trip. Then making dining reservations that compliment those park plans. And finally knowing how you will travel to those parks.
If this all sounds like a lot, don’t worry, we will help you along the way.
#2 Stay Up-to-Date on Changes Prior and During your Trip
As just mentioned in our last step, things at Disney will continue to change no matter what. And that’s why it’s so important to stay up-to-date on important changes.
Because an important event that’s currently not scheduled could be brought back at any point and time. We ask that you follow Firefly Travels on Facebook and Instagram to keep abreast of these changes.

We are constantly providing updates and sharing the latest Disney news on our feeds. It’s important to us that our clients don’t miss out on anything they want to experience during their Disney World vacation.
And that leaves us with our #1 thing you need for planning a Walt Disney World trip in 2020 and beyond.
#1 Use a Travel Agent when visiting Walt Disney World
Over the last four to five months we have had to cancel more vacations than any of us can ever remember. Our days have been filled with undoing trips and plans instead of making new ones. While these were massive changes and completely unprecedented, we can proudly say that we handled them with care. Even in times of disappointment.
As your travel agents we are there for you when things go awry. Whether you have a personal loss, weather related issue, or an emergency situation, we are here for you.
Our company helps make the recommendations you need prior to reserving. We can explain travel policies, cancellations, and help you decide whether travel insurance is a good investment for your personal situation.
We know you work hard for your vacation and we want you to spend it knowing that things are taken care of on our end.
When things go wrong, we are reachable. And in turn we reach out to Disney for you to take care of your needs. The last thing you need in the event of an emergency is not to know where to turn or how to resolve your issue. This is what we do and we can easily handle these bumps in the road.

- Use a Travel Agent!
- Stay up-to-date on Disney related news.
